Dr. Onur Ersun, MD is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist specializing in high-risk pregnancy management, fetal anomaly diagnostics, and maternal-fetal clinical ethics. With an international career trajectory centered in Ukraine, Dr. Ersun has dedicated his clinical work to navigating complex obstetric cases — specifically focusing on the clinical decision-making, continuation protocols, and safe termination strategies for pregnancies complicated by severe fetal malformations and maternal health crises.
Graduating from Ahmet Yesevi University, Dr. Ersun built his clinical foundation through extensive international practice outside of Turkey. Between 2019 and 2021, he served as a core specialist within the Dobrobut Medical Network in Ukraine, providing tertiary-level obstetric care, non-invasive prenatal screening interpretations, and specialized counseling for complex fetal conditions.
Dr. Ersun's clinical philosophy bridges advanced diagnostic technologies with compassionate, evidence-based care, guiding families through some of the most critical decisions in perinatal medicine.
Research Focus Areas
Diagnostic evaluation and ongoing care for pregnancies affected by severe maternal systemic illnesses, placental disorders, and early intrauterine growth restrictions.
Providing expert prognosis estimation and ethical guidance for parents faced with life-limiting or severe structural/chromosomal fetal abnormalities up to advanced gestational ages (up to 24 weeks).
Evidence-based application of medical induction regimens (Mifepristone and Misoprostol), surgical Dilation and Evacuation (D&E), and intrauterine feticide procedures under continuous ultrasound guidance.
Comprehensive post-procedural care, fetal autopsy coordination, and preconception genetic counseling for future pregnancy planning.
Dr. Ersun actively contributes to academic literature in the fields of maternal-fetal medicine and reproductive health. His clinical research focuses on late second-trimester termination protocols, diagnostic accuracy of mid-trimester screening, bioethical considerations in fetal viability, and complication management in advanced gestational age terminations.

Institutional Note: Dr. Ersun's period of practice in Ukraine coincides with a significant era in the region's healthcare history. The Dobrobut network subsequently expanded operations to Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk early in the conflict to provide medical employment for displaced clinicians; these regional branches were later consolidated as patient volume shifts occurred.
